Steel Seal Review - 2001 Alfa 156 2.0ts
Was very sceptical about using this product, but as the symptoms for the head gasket failure didn't seem too bad, I thought I would give Steel Seal a go as if it failed I would still have to repair the
Followed the instructions, put into a cold engine and left on tick over for 60 minutes with the heater up full, then switched off and allowed to cool for an hour.
Used the car the same day, the idle had improved and was no longer hunting for revs and the termperature was holding steady, albeit slightly high. I have now done a couple of trips around town and a couple at motorway speed and all appears well.
I am still preparing myself to do a head gasket change and cylinder head skim at some point, but this simple to use product has postponed it for now - maybe indefinitley.
