STEEL SEAL AT A1 2013 TRADE SHOW
Steel Seal enjoyed a busy and successful A1 Trade Show. The UK’s choice for head gasket repair which also scored an impressive 80% recommendation rate from motor factors across the U.K held high interaction at the A1 Trade Show. This gave the Steel Seal team another chance to not only present an award winning product but also showcase the range of new products from Automotive Brands. From epoxy resin to hand cleaner, Automotive Brands once again didn’t fail to impress with their products and kept people coming back for more throughout the day. Securing a high amount of orders and prospective stockists to add to an ever expanding list of world wide retailers, making it even easier for the customer to purchase their preferred choice of head gasket repair.
Held on the 9th and 10th of October at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, the first day featured training for MAM / A1 Connect button and the A1 Members Intranet and New POS4U web to print website, alongside the annual AGM and A1 Motor Factor Group meetings. Thursday heralded the lucrative Trade Show.
Suppliers who attended the show included, Pearl Automotive, Trico, Osram, Maypole, Comline, Ring, WD-40 and Yuasa and many more. Excellent deals were offered on the day to increase revenue and profit streams to help to beat the recession.
Steve Catling, Managing Director at Pearl Automotive added: “I think it is fair to say that we enjoyed the most successful show for many years. We experienced a steady flow of members visiting our stand who were looking for new and interesting opportunities. Fortunately we had our latest offering of display stands of product from our recently launched Workshop Consumables catalogue which was very well received and orders were placed forthwith. We have had a great response and support from the members on the innovative new catalogue which following last year’s successful ‘wot-nots’ campaign and the introduction of stocks into A12U has helped our relationship to prosper.”
Ring Automotive were presented Supplier of the Year Award and Allied Nippon Disc Pads from Comline scooped Product of the Year.
Danny Gilmore, Associate Sales Director at Ring Automotive enthused: “It was an honour to accept, on behalf of Ring Automotive, the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award for the second year running.

Malcolm Rosher, Sales and Marketing Director at Comline added: “It was a real thrill to us all at Comline to win this award. We manufacture, this means we don’t ‘shop around’. We know exactly where our pads come from and we have full control on selecting the raw ingredients right through the manufacture process to our distribution policy throughout Europe.”
A1 member for eight years, Julie Watson owns Automotion, she added: “I have attended eight conferences now and I personally think it was the best one overall. The supplier support, the trade show, meeting up with and sharing information with fellow members, the venue and the entertainment was all excellent.
“I am proud to be a member of A1. There are changes in place to move A1 forward; POS4U was launched this year and a new corporate website. The members Intranet is a valuable tool for information sharing, for supplier information, pricing, offers, news etc. A12U Warehouse is growing and we need to have more members using all these tools. This is ‘our organisation’ and we all need to contribute and support it. I look forward to future plans to enable me to grow and enhance my business.”
